Design Manager / Design Coordinator

 

Location: West Sussex

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (depending upon experience)

An outstanding opportunity for a Design Manager or a Design Coordinator to join a distinguished Residential Contractor renowned for delivering luxury homes of unparalleled quality in the Surrey / West Sussex region. Our client is seeing continued growth and are seeking a talented Design Manager to be a key player in our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee and improve the efficiency in execution of the delivery of detailed design concepts to site as well as collaborating with top architects and multi-disciplinary studios.

 

Package:

Duties:

  • Oversee and manage the design process to ensure alignment between design intent and construction execution.
  • Collaborate with site managers and site staff to resolve design-related issues and ensure accurate implementation of design elements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including project managers and engineers, to integrate design requirements into project plans.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and partnering architects, design studios, and multi-disciplinary teams, facilitating clear communication and addressing design challenges.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of design documents and site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of design changes, approvals, and correspondence, and prepare design reports for stakeholders.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in design management within the residential construction industry, with a focus on luxury projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of design principles, construction processes, and project management
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and project management tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
