We are looking for a Marine Engineer / Electrical Marine Engineer / Electrical Offshore Engineer who will provide electrical, electronic, and control system overhauls and repair onboard customer vessels UK-wide and globally.

 

The Marine Engineer / Electrical Marine Engineer / Electrical Offshore Engineer will ideally have a marine engineering background in motors, pumps, generators, compressors, switchboards, or similar electro-mechanical equipment.

Marine Engineer / Electrical Marine Engineer / Electrical Offshore Engineer Responsibilities

  • To provide electrical, electronic, and control system overhauls and repair onboard customer vessels UK-wide, within the workshop, and globally.
  • Undertake planned and preventative maintenance, and provide advice, diagnostics, and fault finding of marine and offshore equipment motors, pumps, generators, compressors, switchboards, or similar electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Carry out surveys, installation, commissioning activities, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Attend emergency breakdowns for fault finding and repairs.

Marine Engineer / Electrical Marine Engineer / Electrical Offshore Engineer requirements

  • Proven experience carrying out major medium and high-speed engine overhauls
  • Experience as an Electrical Marine Engineer, Electrical Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Installation Engineer, M&E Engineer, Electro-Mechanical Engineer, or similar in Marine Engineering.
  • Be prepared to travel Worldwide, sometimes at short notice with anti-social hours when vessels are in port.
  • Basic Network communications and diagnostics, IP-based systems
  • Instrumentation communication, e.g.: RS232, RS485, Modbus, CAN bus, Ethernet
  • HSE knowledge
    Engineering background motors, pumps, generators, compressors, switchboards, or similar electro-mechanical equipment.
    An engineering qualification would be advantageous.
    Able to commute to Newcastle, travel UK and wide and globally as required.
