Electrical Engineer / Embedded Electrical Engineer Responsibilities
- Generate detailed electrical schematics and PCB designs that meet the performance and durability standards for defense systems, including embedded and power circuitry.
- Build and implement embedded software in C++ and Python, emphasizing real-time responsiveness and efficiency for autonomous defense applications.
- Oversee the development of high-quality printed circuit boards, adhering to best practices for layout, signal integrity, power distribution, and EMC, in line with military standards.
- Conduct extensive testing, simulation, and debugging in both lab and field conditions, resolving issues and optimizing electronics and software for real-world scenarios.
- Produce and maintain thorough documentation for designs, including schematics, PCB layouts, simulation data, and test procedures.
Electrical Engineer / Embedded Electrical Engineer Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / Masters in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years experience in a previous position such as Electrical Engineer / Embedded Electrical Engineer
- Expertise in designing microcontroller - based control systems, including power conversion circuits and motor drive solutions.
- Advanced proficiency with electrical design and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, and Eagle.
- Skilled in using simulation software (e.g., SPICE, ANSYS Electronics) to assess circuit behavior under varying environmental and operational conditions.
- 5+ years of experience in developing embedded software, particularly for real-time, safety-critical systems in industries such as robotics and defense.
- Commutable or willing to relocate to Austin, TX
