Head of Commissioning

Location: Germany, Netherlands, Paris OR England

Salary: £140,000

We are working with a renowned Data Centre Developer & Operator who are looking for a Head of Commissioning to join their European Team.

This person will take ownership of the commissioning strategy and delivery across large-scale hyperscale developments, ensuring technical excellence, programme certainty, and risk mitigation from design through to handover.

Responsibilities of a client-side Head of Commissioning / Commissioning Lead:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the delivery and commissioning of complex projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives
  • Hold accountability for safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and regulatory compliance across the portfolio
  • Establish and maintain effective programme delivery environments, including people, processes, governance, and technology
  • Lead, develop, and inspire high-performing, diverse teams while fostering an inclusive and wellbeing-focused culture
  • Manage budgets and commercial performance, ensuring financially, ethically, and operationally sound outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, influencing long-term strategy and performance

 

The Head of Commissioning / Commissioning Lead will have the following:

  • Proven experience working as a Head of Commissioning or Commissioning Lead on a large-scale construction project
  • Strong client-side background (developer or operator)
  • Experience working within complex European markets
  • Be happy to travel across Europe frequently
