Head of Department – IT Loans

Based in Munich

Salary – up to €150,000 (depending on experience)

Exciting opportunity to join one of Germany’s largest finance comparison companies. The Head of Department must have demonstrable experience as a team leader, Head of IT, CTO or similar IT management position. Additionally, the Head of Department must have good knowledge of Java and JavaScript frontend development.

Tools & Technologies used: Java 17, JavaScript, Spring Boot 2, Spring Framework 5, Vue.js, ECMAScript 2019, Elasticsearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, and Gradle.

Head of Department position

• Be a strong technical leader and be able to coordinate various development teams, ensuring the best practices are implemented
• Work with various levels of senior management and multiple development teams to drive technical development to the highest standard
• Build a digital and innovative center, and assist with the conception of the architecture and infrastructure
• Responsible for the operation of existing IT systems as well as the design and implementation of new components/projects.

Requirements

• Prior experience as an IT Leader, ideally in the Java space  
• Experienced in software architecture in Java context
• Demonstrable experience of backend Java and frontend JavaScript
• Great communicator in English and German (verbal and written)
• Must be commutable to Munich
