Installation Technician / Commissioning Engineer required for an electrical engineering company based in Telford. Working as part of a growing team, the Installation Technician / Commissioning Engineer will be using schematic drawings and working on off-site installations and retrofitting of control panels / PLCs. The Installation Technician / Commissioning Engineer will need to be 18th Edition qualified as they will be regularly testing of electrical control systems.

Installation Technician / Commissioning Engineer Duties:

  • Skilled Electrician with a minimum of 5 years preferably in an Industrial Electrical / Controls Engineering
  • Experienced and capable off-site installation / retrofit of control panels
  • Ability to read and understand schematic drawings
  • Capable of installing Cable Containment and Support systems
  • Capable of mechanically fitting components to a drawing specification
  • Wire control panels to engineered schematic drawings
  • Testing of electrical control systems
  • Attention to detail, ensuring high quality of build
  • Proficient at using hand and power tools efficiently, adhering to health & safety protocols

 

Experience required for the Installation Technician / Commissioning Engineer role:

  • Electrical/electronic relevant engineering qualification
  • Fully Qualified Electrical Engineer Including  BS7671-18th Edition
  • Previous experience in a similar role (minimum of 5 years Electrical experience)
  • Strong communication skills in all areas
  • Capable of using initiative and paying close attention to detail
  • Detailed knowledge of systems integration incorporating variable speed drives, robotics, PLCs and SCADA/HMI technologies
