Lead Engineer – Drive System Specialist (Marine & Steel industry application knowledge)

The Lead Engineer / Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer will be responsible for delivering engineering activities that contribute to successful project completion. You will be reporting to the Director of Engineering and Innovation. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for supervising and motivating teams of engineers ensuring that deliverables meet client expectations, legal requirements, and industry standards.

Role

The Lead Engineer / Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer will Assist Project Managers with identifying and mitigating project risks and technical changes to ensure quality delivery on budget and on time.

Designing electrical/controls concepts, such as Functional Design Specifications, Safety Requirements Specifications, Single line Diagrams, Network Topologies, Device Layouts, Cause & Effect Matrixes, Safety Block Diagrams, etc.

The Lead Engineer will also deal with the configuration deliverables for e.g. PLC / HMI / SCADA / Robot / Drives / BMS / etc.

The Lead Engineer will be mentoring graduates, trainees, and apprentices.

Factory Acceptance Testing, Commissioning and site Acceptance Testing

 

Required

The Lead Engineer/ Principal / Senior Engineer must have an Apprenticeship / Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics

Experience in a similar position such as Lead Engineer / Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer

Commutable to Shropshire

An understanding of both hardware and software principles of control system design and implementation

You must have a minimum of 5 years in a similar role with team leading / management experience.
