Refurbishment Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician required to join a global engineering manufacturer based near Redditch.

The successful Refurbishment Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician will perform comprehensive refurbishment, including strip downs, surveys, repair, disassembling, and reassembling compressors as well as accurately interpret engineering drawings of high-pressure compressed air systems in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.

The Refurbishment Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician will ideally have refurbishment and / or workshop experience on mechanical equipment such as compressors, motors, pumps, generators, seals, gaskets, valves, actuators, bearings, Sensors and Gauges, power transmission, automated machinery or a similar mechanical product with the ability to follow technical manuals and engineering drawings.

The Refurbishment Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician Role

  • Perform refurbishment of high-pressure and transit compressors according to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Create initial inspection reports with detailed pictures to communicate findings to customers.
  • Attend manufacturer’s training courses as needed.
  • Deliver high-quality repairs and refurbishments of compressed air equipment.
  • Identify and recommend necessary compressor upgrades to meet customer needs.
  • Occasionally visit customer sites to maintain, repair, and install compressed air equipment.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.
  • Workship based in Redditch.

 

The Refurbishment Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician Requirements

  • Refurbishment and / or workshop experience in compressors, motors, pumps, generators, seals, gaskets, valves, actuators, bearings, Sensors and Gauges, power transmission, automated machinery or similar mechanical products.
  • Experience as a Refurbishment Engineer, Workshop Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Test Technician, Overhaul Engineer, or in a similar role within the field of mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for repairing mechanical equipment.
  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or engineering qualification is advantageous.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical schematics and diagrams.
  • Commutable to Redditch and willingness to work on customer sites when required.
