Research and Development Manager

Engineering Manager / New Product Development Manager / Research and Development Manager / Electronics Manager required for a specialist engineering company who provide advanced equipment and products to the offshore, oil and gas and other industries within engineering.

Engineering Manager / New Product Development Manager / Research and Development Manager / Electronics Manager will be responsible for managing a new product development team and overseeing the implementation and completion of all new projects.

We are looking for a multi disciplined engineer who has previously managed a team in Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical disciplines and has experience as an Engineering Manager / New Product Development Manager / Research and Development Manager / Electronics Manager or similar role.  You will have had experience with electronic assemblies, firmware and software and will need to be within commutable distance of the head office in Great Yarmouth.

Package:

£55,000 - £60,000

Role:

• Manage the product development team which consists of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineers and will include report writing, objective setting and ensuring all tasks are fulfilled safely and on time
• Oversee the entire process from the initial inception to the launch of new products
• Training and developing staff as well as recruiting new staff for the department
• Managing budgets and time scales for products to be created and launched
• Strategize and plan accordingly to ensure we stay competitive within the markets that we operate
• Ensure health and safety is at the forefront of each task undertaken to avoid harm
• Check that all equipment is in good working order and establish that it is the correct equipment for the task at hand

Requirements:

• Degree in an Engineering discipline such as Electrical and Electronic / Electrical / Mechanical or similar
• Prior experience managing a team of engineers
• Previous experience working as an Engineering Manager / New Product Development Manager / Research and Development Manager / Electronics Manager
• Hands on experience with experience with electronic assemblies, firmware and software
