Rotor Balancing Technician / Vibration & Balancing Technician / Rotating Equipment Technician

Rotor Balancing Technician / Vibration & Balancing Technician / Rotating Equipment required to join a leading aftermarket engineering company based in Bethlehem, PA.

This is a hands-on position responsible for the dynamic balancing and precision assembly of a wide range of rotating equipment including steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, axial compressors, blowers, expanders, and pump rotors. Youll support critical repair and rebuild operations on high-spec turbomachinery used across energy, petrochemical, and industrial sectors.

Were also open to training mechanically inclined individuals with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Rotor Balancing Technician / Vibration & Balancing Technician / Rotating Equipment Role

  • Perform dynamic balancing and mechanical assembly of rotating assemblies such as impellers, shafts, couplings, bearing journals, and rotor stacks
  • Work on equipment including centrifugal pumps (ANSI/API), steam turbines, integrally geared compressors, axial compressors, blowers, and expanders
  • Use precision tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers, etc.) to inspect and verify runouts, fits, and clearances
  • Follow OEM drawings, job travelers, and balancing specs during precision work
  • Generate inspection reports and assist in documenting quality issues and corrective actions
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Support additional shop activities as needed, including lifting, prepping, and basic mechanical work

Rotor Balancing Technician / Vibration & Balancing Technician / Rotating Equipment Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years in an industrial or machine shop environment preferred
  • Previous hands-on experience with rotor balancing, rotating assemblies, or turbomachinery components ideal
  • Prior exposure to vibration analysis or balance correction processes preferred
  • Proficient with measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working around large rotating equipment, hand tools, propane/acetylene torches, and lifting devices
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Physically fit to handle lifting, bending, standing, and long periods of hands-on work
