Design Engineer / Design & Development Engineer / Mechanical Development Engineer required to join a leading engineering manufacturer based in Leeds.

 

The successful Design Engineer / Design & Development Engineer / Mechanical Development Engineer will join the R&D department and lead development projects from initial concept through to full product realisation.

 

The Design Engineer / Design & Development Engineer / Mechanical Development Engineer will ideally have a mechanical design background managing projects from initial concept to completion, 3D CAD experience, ideally Autodesk Inventor and a mechanical engineering degree or similar.

 

Package
£45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

Role

Lead development projects from initial concept through to full product realisation.

Design & development of products using Autodesk Inventor, Vault, ANSYS software and other programmes/software.

Conduct stress calculations to validate the structural integrity of components and assemblies.

Prepare drawings, documents and engineering calculations to support applications.
Supporting the R&D department in research, development and testing.

Help solve technical problems during manufacture and assembly.

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Preparation, maintenance and revision control of 3D CAD models, drawings and BOM’s using Autodesk Inventor and PLM software.

Implement engineering change requests.
Liaise with various engineering departments.
Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30, Friday 08:00 - 13:00, office based in Leeds.

Requirements
Experience as a Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design & Development Engineer, Mechanical Development Engineer or similar.
Degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering / manufacturing subject.

Proficient using 3D CAD is essential, preferably using Autodesk Inventor, however other 3D CAD will be considered.

Experience in the design of new concepts, design for manufacture or redesigning would be highly desirable.
Familiar with the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is advantageous.

Commutable to Leeds.
