In this senior role you will lead structural analysis efforts on both current and future projects, working closely with industry experts to develop new methodologies and tools. The Role:
Develop load cases and targets using fundamental principles, previous experience, and requirements from customers, legislation, and internal documentation
Work within a multidisciplinary team to support design efforts ensuring solutions meet specified static and dynamic load requirements
Assist with feasibility studies and requirements generation during the pre-contract and concept phases
Perform and document analyses in accordance with established procedures, ensuring clarity and compliance with both internal standards and legislative requirements
Mentor and guide junior engineers, leveraging your expertise in system behaviour, load paths, structural responses and potential failure modes
Create and execute stress analysis simulations using tools like NX SimCentre, selecting suitable techniques and boundary conditions to balance speed, accuracy and relevance
Interpret simulation results, prepare detailed reports, and contribute to the physical testing, calibration, and validation processes
Act as a point of contact for technical discussions with customers, suppliers, manufacturing teams and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Marine or Aerospace Engineering
Experience in stress simulation, including both implicit and fatigue analysis, with a strong understanding of linear and non-linear methods
Proven experience with both metallic and composite structures, and proficiency in FEM analysis for shell and solid structures
Skilled in performing classical hand calculations and creating your own calculation sheets
Practical experience with physical testing and correlation is beneficial
Experience with Siemens SimCenter is ideal, through familiarity with other analysis software (Hyperworks, nCode, FEMFAT, LS-Dyna, NASTRAN, FEMAP)
Working Knowledge of TeamCenter and Siemens NX
