Service Manager / Engineering Site Manager / General Manager required to join a leading, growing manufacturer of industrial pump solutions based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The Successful Service Manager / Engineering Site Manager / General Manager will manage rental equipment and lead a team of service technicians and sub-contractors serving the industrial market, looking at various pump systems, valves, actuators, pipework, hydraulics, and associated clean & wastewater products
The ideal Service Manager / Engineering Site Manager / General Manager will have management or supervisory experience in engineering, with a background in fluid power, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pipework, or similar equipment.
This role is a site-based role but may have travel requirements for extra training or shadowing opportunities.

Service Manager / Engineering Site Manager / General Manager Role
- Will be managing a team of 20 engineers, technicians, and admin staff. This role will be managing a site and will be responsible for the whole facility, reporting to the VP.
- For the first year at least, this role will have hands-on requirements.
- Monitor the daily completion of tasks, ensuring deadlines are met for services and repairs.
- Manage a team working on rotating equipment, pumps, valves, motors, pipes & PLC’s
- Create and manage a Rental Preventive Maintenance schedule
- Collaborate on advanced pump technologies from industry-leading brands worldwide.
- Assist in the hiring of future candidates.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and respond to customers’ requests and inquiries.
- Liaise with various engineering departments.
Service Manager / Engineering Site Manager / General Manager Requirements
- Experience as a Service Manager / Customer Support Manager / Rentals Manager, Engineering Manager, Service Manager, Service Supervisor, Pump Engineer, Installation Manager, Operations Manager, or similar in engineering.
- Knowledge of various types of pumps, valves, fluid power, or rotating equipment, pumps, or related products such as valves, pipes, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, or filtration, we’d consider candidates coming from a rotating equipment background.
- Management or supervisory experience in engineering, with a background in fluid power or rotating equipment, pumps, or related products such as valves, pipes, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, or filtration. We’d consider someone technical looking to learn the products.
- A desire for change management and a drive to progress into higher management after this position.
- Based near site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with flexibility to travel the US.
