Field Service Technician / Metrology Service Technician

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (based on experience)

Job Description

A leading provider of precision metrology solutions supporting the manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, medical, and industrial sectors is seeking a Field Service Technician / Metrology Service Technician to support customers throughout Ohio.

This field-based role is responsible for the installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support of advanced metrology and precision measurement equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), vision systems, optical measurement systems.

Field Service Technician / Metrology Service Technician Responsibilities:

  • Travel throughout Ohio to install, calibrate, service, troubleshoot, and repair precision metrology equipment, including CMMs, vision measurement systems, optical inspection equipment, and other dimensional measurement solutions.
  • Perform equipment installations, preventive maintenance, calibration, diagnostics, and repairs to maximize customer uptime and measurement accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and metrology-related issues.
  • Analyze technical problems, implement corrective actions, and provide clear recommendations to customers and internal teams.
  • Support customers with technical guidance, equipment optimization, calibration best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate service reports and communicate service activities, findings, and recommendations.

Field Service Technician / Metrology Service Technician Requirements:

  • Prior experience servicing, maintaining, installing, calibrating, or troubleshooting metrology equipment, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), vision systems, optical measurement equipment, or similar precision measurement systems.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional metrology, precision measurement principles, and inspection equipment.
  • Engineering degree, technical degree, or equivalent technical background is preferred but not required; candidates with a strong field service background working with metrology or precision measurement equipment are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Ohio to support customers.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
