Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Power Generation - Texas
Verto People is recruiting a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning and startup on a power generation project.
Representing the owner, you’ll oversee mechanical testing, help resolve startup issues and confirm equipment and supporting systems are ready for operation and handover.
Key responsibilities

Review mechanical commissioning procedures and test documentation.

Witness system flushing, cleaning, leak checks and functional testing.

Monitor readiness of mechanical equipment and auxiliary systems.

Work with contractors and vendors to troubleshoot startup issues.

Verify equipment preservation is maintained throughout commissioning.

Support performance testing and track outstanding items through to turnover.
Requirements

At least 10 years of mechanical commissioning experience within power or process plants.

Practical experience with lube oil flushing and rotating equipment startup.

Working knowledge of applicable ASME codes.

Confidence reviewing technical documentation and maintaining clear commissioning records.

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field experience.
Previous owner-side commissioning experience, OSHA 30 and familiarity with digital construction documentation tools would be advantageous.
