Preservation Technician / Millwright / Mechanical Technician required to join a leading manufacturer within the natural gas compression and rotating equipment industry based in Houston, Texas.
The successful Preservation Technician / Millwright / Mechanical Technician will be responsible for preserving, maintaining, and protecting large industrial compressors, engines, and rotating equipment during storage and transport.
The ideal Preservation Technician / Millwright / Mechanical Technician will have a mechanical or millwright background working on large industrial equipment within oil & gas, compression, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.

Preservation Technician / Millwright / Mechanical Technician Responsibilities
- Carry out preservation procedures on compressors, engines, and rotating equipment
- Remove and reinstall valves and mechanical components during preservation processes
- Apply corrosion prevention methods including fogging, protective coatings, and oil circulation
- Install protective coverings and sealing systems to prevent contamination and moisture ingress
- Conduct inspections and maintain preservation documentation and reports
- Perform periodic equipment checks and re-preservation procedure
- Identify corrosion, leaks, or mechanical issues on stored equipment
- Work closely with mechanical, production, and engineering teams
Preservation Technician / Millwright / Mechanical Technician Requirements
- Previous experience as a Rotating Equipment Technician, Mechanical Technician, Millwright, Compressor Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Fitter, Gas Compression Technician, or similar
- Mechanical technician or millwright background with large industrial equipment
- Experience working on compressors, engines, pumps, or rotating equipment
- Knowledge of equipment preservation and corrosion prevention techniques preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Experience within oil & gas, power generation, or heavy industrial sectors beneficial
- Forklift, rigging, or crane experience advantageous
- Based commutable to Houston, TX
