The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing and well-established business specialising in industrial automation, robotics, and custom-engineered manufacturing solutions.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of projects from initial kickoff through to installation, commissioning, and warranty, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will act as the primary point of contact between customers, engineering teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, playing a key role in delivering technically challenging automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage industrial automation and robotics projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial kickoff through to completion and warranty.

• Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates and ensuring expectations are effectively managed.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and delivery milestones.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical design, electrical engineering, controls programming, assembly, and installation.

• Monitor project costs, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.

• Identify potential project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

• Oversee suppliers, subcontractors, procurement activities, and equipment delivery schedules.

• Manage changes to project scope, ensuring any commercial or technical implications are communicated effectively.

• Ensure all projects meet relevant safety, quality, and industry standards.

• Provide regular progress reports to internal management and customers.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Project Manager or similar project delivery role within industrial automation, robotics, machine building, or automated manufacturing equipment.

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering principles.

• Experience managing complex engineering projects involving multiple technical disciplines.

• Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and customer expectations.

• Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.

• Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to coordinate engineering teams, suppliers, and customers effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to project delivery.
