Location: Brooklyn, NY (hybrid, with one remote day a week)
Salary: $95,000 to $120,000 base, depending on experience
Type: Full-time, permanent
About the Studio
We're partnering with a well-known, multidisciplinary design studio in Brooklyn with a strong reputation for thoughtful, crafted work across architecture and interiors. The studio is growing its residential architecture practice and wants an Architectural Designer to help build it from the ground up.
This is a rare chance to join a respected creative studio at the start of something new. You'll work directly with the founder, have a real voice in how the residential practice develops, and see your projects through from first sketch to final walkthrough.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading high-end residential projects from schematic design through construction administration, including townhouse renovations, condo and apartment gut renovations, and custom homes
- Producing and coordinating full construction document sets, bid packages, and millwork and detail drawings
- Managing DOB filings, and Landmarks (LPC) submissions on projects in historic districts
- Acting as a main point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants (structural, MEP, expediters)
- Running site visits, reviewing shop drawings, and keeping projects on budget and schedule during construction
- Working closely with the interiors team so architecture and interiors come together as one design
- Helping shape the residential practice as it grows, including supporting proposals and new client conversations
What You'll Bring
- Professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
- Around 4 to 8 years of experience, with a strong focus on high-end residential in New York City
- Hands-on experience taking projects from SD through CA, ideally including townhouse or brownstone work
- Working knowledge of NYC DOB processes; LPC experience is a big plus
- Strong AutoCAD and Rhino skills, plus Adobe Creative Suite; Revit, Enscape or similar rendering tools are a plus
- A good eye for detail, materials and craft, and confidence talking to clients
- Working toward licensure is welcome; licensed candidates are encouraged to apply too
- Entrepreneurial energy and an interest in helping grow a practice, not just deliver drawings
Why You'll Want This Role
- Direct access to the founder and real influence on the studio's residential direction
- Beautiful, high-end projects in some of New York's best neighborhoods
- A creative, collaborative studio culture with a strong design identity
- A clear path to grow with the practice as it expands
- Hybrid schedule with a regular remote day
- Competitive salary and benefits
