Senior UPS Service Technician / UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician

A Senior UPS Service Technician is required for a field-based critical power role supporting UPS installation, commissioning, maintenance and emergency service across commercial and industrial customer sites.

This role suits an experienced UPS Technician or Critical Power Technician with strong hands-on knowledge of single-phase and three-phase UPS systems, battery systems, electrical distribution and power quality. The Senior UPS Service Technician will work on systems from 8kW to 1MW, supporting reliable power infrastructure in environments such as data centers, hospitals and manufacturing facilities.

The Senior UPS Service Technician / UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician Role:

  • Install, commission, service and maintain UPS systems across customer sites
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex UPS, battery and power system faults
  • Support emergency repairs and after-hours call-outs when required
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to improve uptime and equipment life
  • Perform load analysis, capacity planning, battery assessments and power quality testing
  • Work with single-phase and three-phase UPS systems from 8kW to 1MW

Senior UPS Service Technician / UPS Technician / Critical Power Technician Requirements:

  • Experience as a Senior UPS Service Technician, UPS Technician, Critical Power Technician, Field Service Technician or similar UPS service role
  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with UPS installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with single-phase and three-phase UPS systems
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, battery systems and electrical distribution
  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and power analyzers
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites
  • High school diploma required; associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics or a related technical field preferred

Desirable Experience:

  • Electrical license or certification
  • UPS manufacturer certifications such as APC, Eaton or Schneider Electric
  • Experience with static transfer switches, power distribution units and monitoring systems
  • Experience working in data centers, hospitals, manufacturing facilities or similar critical environments
