Workshop Engineer / Service Support Engineer / Mechanical Engineer required to join a leading Engineering Manufacturer in Croydon.


The Workshop Engineer / Service Support Engineer / Mechanical Engineer provide Engineering support for all departments in a hands-on perspective.

 

The successful Workshop Engineer / Service Support Engineer / Mechanical Engineer will ideally have an engineering background in Drive systems, power transmission, gearmotors, gearboxes, gear units, capital equipment, pumps, compressors, valves, hydraulics, or similar electro-mechanical engineering products.

Workshop Engineer / Service Support Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Role:

  • To prove Engineering support for all departments in a hands-on perspective.
  • To provide assessments, engineering changes, inspections, fault investigation, design, warranty claim investigation, and further engineering support roles
  • Manage warranty investigations, including, writing the investigation report, drawing conclusions on the failure, making recommendations for follow-up actions, and ensuring actions are implemented/ carried out.
  • Interacting with customers and suppliers
  • Produce technical reports in accordance with company/client requirements.
  • Create engineering change and concession / Production Permit requests as required.
  • Support VTGB’s internal customers – Sales, Projects, Production, Purchasing, Operations, Shop Floor, Quality, etc, as required.
  • Laise with various engineering departments

 

Workshop Engineer / Service Support Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

  • Experience as a support engineer, industrial engineer, mechanical engineer, service engineer, electrical engineer, workshop manager, workshop engineer, service technician.
  • Professional engineering experience, with a good balance of general engineering, testing, problem solving, technical process writing, condition assessments, technical investigations, and task management.
  • Will ideally have an engineering background in Drive systems, power transmission, gearmotors, gearboxes, gear units, capital equipment, pumps, compressors, valves, hydraulics, couplings, cardan shafts, or similar electro-mechanical engineering products.
  • Knowledge of various industries ranging from Mobility (Rail and Marine), Power Oil and Gas, aviation, etc, sectors.
  • Understand the impact of engineering actions and decisions on current contracts and future business.
  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
  • Commutable to the office in Croydon
