Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer required to join a global, leading engineering manufacturer.

The successful Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical fitting, service, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of bespoke mechanical systems, predominantly containment systems for biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, medical device, and aerospace markets. This is a workshop based role in Stockport with worldwide travel and staying away when required (overtime and staying away allowances paid) Full product training provided.

The Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer will ideally have a mechanical or electro-mechanical background a willingness to learn advanced engineering systems, a dependable team-first attitude, and the flexibility to travel while supporting a wide range of hands-on engineering activities.

Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer Role

  • Assist with the service, maintenance, and repair of containment isolators and associated mechanical systems.

  • Support installation, assembly, and commissioning activities at customer sites once fully trained.

  • Conduct basic fault finding across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components.

  • Carry out mechanical assembly, airflow testing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning once trained.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.

  • Workshop based in Stockport with worldwide travel and staying away when required when required (overtime and staying away allowances paid)

Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer Requirements

  • Mechanical or electro-mechanical background

  • Willingness to learn complex containment systems and follow structured training.

  • Mechanical or electrical qualification, degree, apprentice trained is advantageous. 
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to support the team wherever needed.

  • Flexible for worldwide travel and staying away when required (overtime and staying away allowances paid)
