Weld Engineer / Welder
Location: Richmond, Indiana
Type: Permanent / On Site
Pay Range: $75k - $90k
Weld Engineer required to join a U.S.-based industrial manufacturing partner delivering precision fabrication, tooling, and welding solutions for demanding, regulated industries.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical authority for all welding activities
Develop and qualify WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation to applicable codes
Standardize and optimize welding processes for quality and efficiency
Support robotic welding procedures and documentation
Provide technical input on joint design, materials, and weldability
Oversee weld qualification testing and coupon evaluation
Provide CWI-level inspection oversight (internal and suppliers as needed)
Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements
Support and improve the welding elements of the Quality Management System
Train, mentor, and qualify welders and inspection personnel
Minimum Requirements:
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (required)
Strong working knowledge of AWS, ASME, API, MIL, and applicable welding codes and standards
Deep working knowledge of welding codes and standards
Experience working with MRP or production planning systems
Experience supporting production and quality systems in a manufacturing environment
