Building Automation Engineer / Building Automation Designer / Building Automation Systems Designer is required to join an industry leader in Union City, CA.

 

The successful Building Automation Engineer / Building Automation Designer / Building Automation Systems Designer will translate HVAC and control requirements into detailed technical documentation that supports field installation and procurement.

 

Package:

• $80,000 – $120,000

Building Automation Engineer / Building Automation Designer / Building Automation Systems Designer Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop detailed BAS design documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and controls drawings
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand project scope, HVAC sequences, and control requirements
  • Utilize design and documentation tools such as Visio, Bluebeam, Niagara N4, Distech GFX, and Distech Designer
  • Create and maintain accurate controls design packages to support procurement and field installation
  • Translate design intent into clear, professional graphical representations and system documentation
  • Support project managers by coordinating design activities and responding to technical questions
  • Address design-related issues during construction and commissioning phases as needed
  • Participate in client meetings to review design concepts and provide technical explanations

 

Building Automation Engineer / Building Automation Designer / Building Automation Systems Designer Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC controls, or related disciplines
  • Proficiency with Visio, Niagara N4, Distech GFX, Distech Designer, and Bluebeam
  • Strong understanding of BAS platforms and protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and Niagara Framework
  • Experience creating controls drawings, BOMs, and technical design documentation
  • Can live anywhere in US, preferably in CA
