CNC Application Engineer / Application Specialist

Location: Seattle, Washington
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 (Based on experience)

Job Description

A leading manufacturer of high-precision CNC machine tools supporting the metalworking and advanced manufacturing industries is seeking a CNC Application Engineer to support customers with process development, machining solutions, and technical applications support.

This role focuses on developing optimized CNC machining processes, supporting customer applications, conducting machine demonstrations, and providing technical expertise to improve manufacturing performance and productivity.

CNC Application Engineer / Application Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize CNC machining processes, including tooling, workholding, programming, and cycle time improvements, to meet customer production requirements.
  • Provide technical support to customers through phone, email, and on-site visits regarding CNC machine operation, applications, and process optimization.
  • Perform test cuts, machine demonstrations, and process validation to prove machining concepts and demonstrate machine capabilities.
  • Analyze customer part requirements and recommend suitable machining solutions, including machine configuration, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
  • Support turnkey projects from initial concept through process development, testing, implementation, and customer training.
  • Assist with machine installations, trade shows and demonstrations.

CNC Application Engineer / Application Specialist Requirements:

  • Previous experience in CNC machining / CNC Programming, applications engineering, CNC manufacturing or similar.
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in CNC machining / CNC Programming, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, workholding, and production optimization.
  • Experience with CNC programming, including G-code and/or conversational CNC controls.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming software such as Mastercam, Esprit, Fusion 360, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with customers, engineers, and internal teams.
