Design Manager

 

Location:             Hammersmith, West London
Salary:                  £50,000 – £58,000 (Dependent Upon Experience)

 

Are you an experienced Project or Senior Architect looking to take a step into a Design Manager role? Or an experienced Design Manager looking to work on some truly landmark international projects?

This is an opportunity to join, a highly respected, design-led practice delivering work on one of the largest and most prestigious aviation developments in the world. It’s high-profile. It’s complex. And it demands someone who can bring clarity, leadership and technical confidence to a major international programme.

You’ll be the key lynchpin between client, consultants and the internal architectural team. The person who keeps conversations moving, decisions aligned and design intent protected.

If you’ve worked on large-scale infrastructure schemes or major projects, and you’re confident operating in Revit within a collaborative BIM environment, this could be a genuinely career-defining move.

Office:   Hammersmith, West London
Hours:   9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday

 

Duties:

  • Lead design management on a major international aviation programme, coordinating architecture, structure, MEP and specialist consultants
  • Drive multidisciplinary teams within a complex infrastructure environment, managing interfaces and resolving coordination challenges
  • Oversee BIM-led delivery in a Revit studio, ensuring accurate models, clear information flow and technical alignment
  • Act as the key link between client, consultants and internal architects, chairing meetings and providing clear, structured reporting
  • Manage design programmes, deliverables and resources to maintain commercial control and programme certainty
  • Identify and mitigate design and interface risks early, ensuring compliance, quality and contractual clarity
  • Support commercial oversight including consultant appointments, scope control and change management
  • Champion practical, buildable solutions that protect design intent while delivering efficient, programme-focused outcomes

 

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified Architect (ARB/RIBA or international equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience stepping into Design Management, or operating in a Design Manager capacity on complex projects
  • Strong Revit proficiency within a BIM-led studio environment
  • Excellent communicator, confident leading meetings both in person and via Teams/Zoom
  • Solid understanding of project requirements, design deliverables, statutory approvals and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across large-scale or infrastructure-led projects
  • Commercially aware, organised and comfortable working within structured contract environments
  • Able to manage programme, scope and stakeholder expectations with clarity and authority
