About the Opportunity
Verto People is partnering with a major US Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor seeking 6 experienced Nuclear Estimators to support its growing nuclear project portfolio.
These positions will supplement an established project team, supporting estimating activities across major nuclear projects, with a particular focus on commissioning, completions and project execution.
We are interested in speaking with mid-to-senior-level estimating professionals who combine strong technical estimating capabilities with practical experience across nuclear facilities and large-scale EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed cost estimates for nuclear projects, including commissioning, startup, completions and associated project activities.

Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, scopes of work and project documentation to establish accurate cost estimates.

Evaluate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor and resource requirements.

Work closely with engineering, construction, commissioning and project controls teams to develop and validate estimates.

Support bid preparation, estimate reviews, cost analysis and project planning activities.

Identify potential cost risks, scope gaps and opportunities for improved project execution.

Maintain estimating documentation, assumptions and supporting calculations.

Contribute to project cost forecasting and estimating updates as project scopes evolve.
Requirements

Proven estimating experience within the nuclear industry, ideally supporting major EPC or capital projects.

Strong understanding of nuclear commissioning, startup, completions or project execution activities.

Experience developing and reviewing detailed project cost estimates.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical project documentation.

Familiarity with construction methodologies, labor productivity, resource planning and project cost structures.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.

US citizenship required due to nuclear project restrictions.

Ability to work from the Houston or Kansas City office.
Desirable Experience
-
Previous experience with major US EPC contractors.

Background in nuclear plant construction, commissioning, preservation, turnover or startup.

Additional experience across power generation, combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT), LNG or oil and gas projects.

Experience supporting FEED, detailed engineering or large-scale construction estimates.

Field experience alongside estimating or project controls responsibilities.
