The Opportunity

A leading global engineering and industrial technology business is looking to appoint a Sales Representative to support continued growth across Northern California.

This is an excellent opportunity for a degree qualified graduate looking to get into sales, with a technical background in mechanical, electrical, automation, machine tools, electronics, or related technical industries to join an established and highly supportive commercial team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, supporting technical sales activity, and contributing to revenue and market-share growth across an assigned territory.

Working closely with the wider sales team and key account management function, you will:

• Manage and develop relationships with existing customers across the assigned territory.
• Regularly visit customers to understand their requirements and identify opportunities for further business.
• Provide customers with technical and commercial support throughout the sales process.
• Develop, qualify and manage sales opportunities and pipeline activity.
• Identify and prospect new customers and generate new business opportunities.
• Work proactively with internal technical and commercial resources to resolve customer requirements.
• Support customer training sessions, trade shows, open houses and other industry events.
• Maintain strong communication with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to the continued growth of revenue and market share within the territory.

The company is looking for an outgoing, degree qualified graduate, who would enjoy working directly with customers and developing long-term relationships.

You will ideally bring:

• Technical degree qualified experience to support sales for a industrial company.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: automation, machine tools, electronics, industrial technology or related fields.
• Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying and developing new sales opportunities.
• The ability to understand technical requirements and communicate effectively with customers.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confidence working independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
• A willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the territory.
• An Associate's degree or other technical qualification would be advantageous.
