Quality Inspector / Quality Technician / Metallurgist  required to join a well established engineering company in Bradford. The Quality Inspector will use their quality and engineering skills for the inspection and testing of materials & metals and to coordinate and perform quality control checks throughout manufacturing and Inward Goods

 

The Quality Inspector / Quality Technician / Metallurgist will ideally come from a metals or mechanical engineering background or have experience using materials testing skills / metrology skills.

 

Duties in the Quality Inspector / Quality Technician / Metallurgist

Role

  • Ensure the continuous development of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Co-ordinate the re-calibration of production measuring instruments ensuring they are re-calibrated to the schedule and maintain the master document for this function.
  • Support investigation and documentation of shop floor quality issues and concerns.
  • Root Cause Analysis determined by NCR’s and scrap reports
  • Assist the Quality Manager with any future UKAS extension to scope projects.
  • Lead Quality investigations and subsequent improvements
  • Conduct Quality audits (as leader/member of audit teams)
  • Reporting and assist to the Quality Manager
  • Knowledge to ISO9001 
  • Collecting and evaluating quality data and initiating corrective and preventive actions
  • Develop & create project related Quality Process Plans
  • Involvement in external accreditations such as ISO 9001- & third-party audits
  • Ensure safe operation of mechanical handling equipment, as required and only when trained to do so.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments
  • 07.45 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 07.45 to 12.45 on Fridays

 

Requirements for the Quality Inspector role

  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, Metallurgist or similar
  • Engineering qualification
  • Experience in controlling quality management systems (QMS) within an engineering or production / manufacturing environment
  • Good working knowledge of metrology hand tools and functions of typical use
  • Commutable to Bradford
