Product Design Engineer

Product Design Engineer required to assist in the design and advancement of products to withstand a range of weather environments – with new products being launched every month – in this expanding company with plans to add to the product range month on month, this is a great time to join this team!

The Product Design Engineer is a new position due to growth and the location offers beaches, watersports, hiking in the beautiful hills of Dartmoor and weekend visits to Cornwall.  The local City is vibrant and beautiful too.  Best of both worlds and relocation assistance is on offer.

Opportunities to travel to China several times per year, and an annual major show in Amsterdam with testing of the products taking you off-site too.  Some travel although not extensive is required.

Product Design Engineer Responsibilities

Discuss and evaluate the feasibility of the project and concept idea with the sales team and OEM customers

Assemble and design prototypes and complete in-house product testing

Compile BOM’s and tooling pricing

Generate animations and renders for the marketing team and customers

Produce prototype products in the workshop – using 3D printer, cutting and spraying tools

Product Design Engineer Requirements

Experience in product design / design engineering  

Degree qualified in Product Design, Industrial design, Mechanical design or similar

Understanding of materials and plastic mould manufacturing processes

Proficient in the use of 3D CAD, ideally SolidWorks as well as 3D rendering skills

Experience and understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Experience and demonstration of engineering and design skills
