Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer / Tooling Design Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a leading manufacturer based in Wellingborough. 
The Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer / Tooling Design Engineer will improve and develop manufacturing processes by creating and developing tooling/fixtures, performing root cause analysis and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Role
Implementing, developing, and improving both equipment and procedures to reduce line downtime and increase efficiency
Develop manufacturing capability through investment and optimisation of existing tooling /resources. This includes design and build of tooling using Solidworks
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Use continuous improvements & lean manufacturing techniques – eg: FMEA, 5S, Six Sigma, 8D, Kaizen
Existing product re-engineering
Design new systems, equipment, and processes for the introduction of new products or the improvement of existing ones
Involvement in new product design
Maintain equipment tooling, jigs & fixtures, implementing TPM where appropriate
Improve manufacturing efficiencies
Design production tooling, jigs & fixtures using 3D CAD (Solidworks)
Carry out process validation on any new tooling or changes to a process
Liaise with various engineering / manufacturing environments
Based in Wellingborough
Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 17.15 and Friday 8.00 to 13.00
 
Requirements
Proven experience as a Tooling Design Engineer, Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Process Engineer or similar
Tooling / jig & fixtures design experience
3D CAD experience – Solidworks would be ideal, but will consider Inventor, SolidEdge, Catia, etc
Experience using continuous improvements & lean manufacturing techniques – eg: FMEA, 5S, Six Sigma, 8D, Kaizen
Apprentice trained, HNC, HND or Degree qualified in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or similar
Commutable to Wellingborough
